Consultation

Our goal is the relentless pursuit of vitality. Dr. Eric performs individual consultations for men and women experiencing hormone-related issues including menopausal symptoms, weight gain, loss of energy, decreased libido, and brain fog.

If you've been searching for answers that traditional medicine hasn't provided, a consultation is your first step toward understanding what's really going on–and how to fix it.

Does This Sound Like You?

  • Struggling with fatigue that makes even simple tasks feel exhausting?
  • Gaining weight despite eating well and exercising–especially around your midsection?
  • Noticing your sex drive has disappeared and it's affecting your relationship?
  • Dealing with brain fog, mood swings, or just not feeling like yourself anymore?
  • Experiencing hot flashes, night sweats, or sleep disturbances that leave you drained?

If any of this sounds familiar, there's likely a reason–and it's probably not "just getting older." Hormone imbalances, nutrient deficiencies, thyroid dysfunction, and metabolic issues can cause all of these symptoms. The good news? Once we identify the root cause, we can fix it.

Why Schedule a Consultation?

A consultation with Dr. Eric is different from a typical doctor's visit. You won't be rushed through a 10-minute appointment only to leave with a prescription and more questions than answers. Instead, you'll receive dedicated time with a physician who specializes in hormone optimization and actually listens to your concerns.

During your consultation, you can expect:

  •   A thorough discussion of your symptoms, health history, and goals
  •   Review of any existing lab work before you telemedicine appointment
  •   Education on what may be causing your symptoms
  •   Discussion of treatment options including bioidentical hormone therapy
  •   Answers to your questions about hormones, health, nutrition, and training
  •   Personalized recommendations and next steps

What Is Bioidentical Hormone Therapy?

Bioidentical hormones are plant-based hormones that are engineered to be molecularly identical to the hormones your body naturally produces–such as testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. Because they match your body's own hormones, they can be metabolized more naturally than synthetic alternatives.

Dr. Eric specializes in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) for both men and women. When hormone levels decline–whether due to aging, menopause, andropause, or other factors–replacing them with bioidentical hormones can help restore energy, mood, libido, mental clarity, and overall quality of life.

Not everyone needs hormone therapy, and it's not the right solution for every situation. That's why a consultation is so important–it helps determine whether BHRT or another approach is the best path forward for you.

Consultation: What To Expect

Before Your Telemedicine Appointment

Gather any recent lab work you've had done (within the past 6-12 months). This might include bloodwork from your primary care physician, previous hormone panels, or thyroid tests. If you don't have recent labs, that's okay–we can discuss ordering appropriate testing during your consultation.

Make a list of your current symptoms, medications, and supplements. Think about when your symptoms started, what makes them better or worse, and what you've already tried. The more information you bring, the more productive our time together will be.

During Your Consultation

Your consultation will typically last 30-60 minutes, via telemedicine, depending on the complexity of your situation. Dr. Eric will review your health history, discuss your symptoms and goals, and examine any lab work you've brought.

You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and get clear answers about what's happening in your body and what can be done about it.

For your telemedicine appointments, you'll connect via secure video call from the comfort of your home. The experience is the same as an in-person visit–just more convenient.

After Your Consultation

Following your consultation, Dr. Eric will provide personalized recommendations based on your unique situation. This may include suggestions for additional testing, lifestyle modifications, supplementation, or hormone therapy options.

You'll also receive information about ongoing support programs if you choose to continue working with Primex.

FAQs

How long is a consultation?

Consultations typically last 30-60 minutes depending on your situation. If you have complex health issues or extensive lab work to review, plan for the longer end. Dr. Eric takes the time needed to address your concerns–you won't be rushed out the door.

Do I need to have lab work before my consultation?

It's helpful but not required. If you have recent bloodwork (within 6-12 months), have it on hand to reference during your telemedicine appointment. Dr. Eric can review your existing labs and identify what additional testing may be needed. If you don't have any labs, that's fine–we can discuss what testing would be appropriate and how to get it done.

Can I do a consultation via telemedicine?

Yes. Telemedicine consultations are available nationwide via secure video call. The experience is the same as an in-person visit–you'll have face-to-face time with Dr. Eric, the ability to ask questions, and personalized recommendations. Many patients prefer telemedicine for its convenience.

What's the difference between a consultation and the VIP Cellular Health Assessment?

A consultation is a single telemedicine appointment where Dr. Eric reviews your symptoms, health history, and any existing lab work to provide guidance and recommendations. The VIP Cellular Health Assessment is a comprehensive program that includes two consultations plus an extensive lab panel measuring over 100 biomarkers. If you're looking for a complete root-cause evaluation, the VIP Assessment is the way to go. If you have specific questions or want to discuss a particular issue, a consultation may be sufficient.

Will I get a prescription during my consultation?

It depends on your situation. If you have recent lab work that clearly indicates a need for hormone therapy and you're a good candidate, Dr. Eric may be able to provide a prescription. In many cases, however, additional lab testing is needed before prescribing to ensure the treatment is appropriate and safe. Dr. Eric will be upfront about what's needed.

Is this covered by insurance?

Consultations are a cash-pay service and are not billed to insurance. However, you may be able to use HSA or FSA funds. We can provide a receipt for you to submit for potential reimbursement. Any prescriptions resulting from the consultation may be covered by your insurance depending on your plan.

What if I'm already on hormone therapy with another provider?

That's common–many patients seek a second opinion or feel their current therapy isn't working optimally. Bring your current protocol and any recent lab work to the consultation. Dr. Eric can review what you're on, assess whether it's appropriate, and make recommendations for optimization if needed.

How do I prepare for my consultation?

Gather any recent lab work, make a list of your current medications and supplements, and write down your symptoms and questions. Think about when your symptoms started, what you've tried, and what your goals are. The more prepared you are, the more productive the consultation will be.

What happens after the consultation?

After your consultation, you'll have a clear understanding of what may be causing your symptoms and what steps to take next. This might include ordering additional lab work, starting a treatment protocol, making lifestyle changes, or enrolling in an ongoing support program. Dr. Eric will provide personalized recommendations, and you'll decide how you want to move forward.
